Justice Begay's Platform

As an Indigenous leader, I know what it is like to come from a community in need of healing and to work hard towards healing that community. As your Justice of the Peace, I will continue working for you and your family to create a more equitable system of justice. My solutions to our problems will clear case backlogs, decrease fines while favoring community service, and keep our neighborhoods safe.

Evictions

I will keep the scales of justice balanced. As inflation and evictions increase, I will limit eviction related fees from growing and help people find resources to pay their rent.

Traffic Fines

In my time as Moon Valley's Justice of the Peace, I reduced fines by allowing community service instead. I gave people their fair day in court by setting hearings before warrants are issued. This keep our streets safer. I will do the same for the Encanto Court.

Public Safety

I will make our community safer by prioritizing domestic violence and criminal harassment cases. I will issue orders of protection on a timely basis. I will engage in open communication with all parties involved to ensure objective rulings and the community is safe.
