"At the monthly meeting for AZDEMS LD5, 4/7/2026, Ms. Begay as candidate for Justice of the Peace - Encanto, reminded attendees of her extensive resumé which includes 20 years of service in the US Navy, single parent of three, ordained Deacon at New Hope of UCC Phoenix, renowned speaker/advocate for 2SLGBTQ+ rights, published author, graduate of ASU College of Law, UC Berkeley alumna, Flinn-Brown Fellow, former Administrative Law Judge at Department of Economic Security, former Justice of the Peace in Moon Valley carrying with it aspect of being the first Native American elected to the Maricopa Justice Courts and active resident in the Encanto district- Osborn School District.

I pressed her on questions as mentioned by constituents and others and received definitive clarification and solid answers. Begay is knowlegable of Arizona and Tribal law, brings first hand insight of/toward several communities and cultures. I appreciate her forthright address to the vetting that was voiced. With that, I again offer my support and continued friendship. Encouragement for all with questions to reach out directly to Ann.

Begay will serve a full term and bring knowledge, experience and appropriate empathy, decorum and judgement to the bench."
